18 respected public figures of India rejected the AAP's offer of a Rajya Sabha seat? What does it really mean? Has the AAP lost its appeal to eminent personalities?
It is not the AAP who has lost the appeal but the RajyaSabha. Getting inside the parliament on a ticket of any political party is just an one time occasion, while investing the potential in parliament is all time for 6 years. Imagine, if Raghuramrajan would have gone inside the RajyaSabha, he was going to debate with Sachin Tendulkar on economic/social issues. The global community/academia would have lost a professor and a crucial advisor. As of national service is concerned, he can do so any day without any posts on something he is best at. Therefore, undermining that AAP has lost appeal would be a disgusting conclusion in this regard. On the other hand, the benevolent act of AAP to offer such positions to people who are important to the society has to be taken seriously. That is all I have to say, the onus of responsibility rests with the people to judge these issues rationally.
